Credit score model change
16/10/2024
Taking into account the international best practices and the dynamics of the domestic financial sector, JSC “Credit Information Bureau Creditinfo Georgia”, based on an annual analysis, periodically updates the credit score calculation model. The last update was conducted on October 8, 2024, which changed several variables and factors affecting credit scores. in particular:
- The influence of the share of the paid amount of the current loan on the calculation of the score has increased. The higher the amount paid, the higher the credit score.
- The impact of overdue payments and fines on the score calculation has increased. The more days past due and the amount of the penalty, the lower the credit score.
- The validity period of variables has been increased. Before the upgrade, only the last 24-27 months of payments were used to calculate the score, now the last 60 months are used.
- Since the 2023 credit organizations were instructed to provide the Bureau with information on income from remittances and this data is also processed in the Bureau’s database along with other credit history data, in accordance with the factors affecting the score, remittance data was also added. However, remittance income data is not a significant determinant of credit behavior and its impact on the score is generally small. If receiving income from remittances of a certain amount is regularly recorded, it is possible to increase the score. If the data subject does not record a remittance, this factor has no effect on his score.
